Self as a teaching tool

Counselling and psychotherapy training often incorporates experiential learning to help students understand explore different aspects of self. Lecturers tutors, facilitating such courses, can also share their lived experience, as a form learning. This article describes workshop on power anti-oppressive practice that was delivered counselling in Master Arts (MA) Psychotherapy Practice. Two lecturers (Beverley Peter) used experiences racism homophobia stimulate student discussion debate—effectively, they were using self teaching tool. details reflections whilst with two (Ann-Marie Ben), who attended the workshop.
